Experience Parks and Gardens
A German Federal Association is active since the non-profit association Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. was founded in summer 2007. It bundles the interests of parks and gardens.
The Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. offers a communcation and cooperation stage to garden initiatives. Vistitors from all regions and nations should experience the diverse values of German garden culture and develop joy at the gardens.
Aims
Federal Association Gartennetz Deutschland e.V.: acting together to develop garden culture
The Federal Association Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. founded in 2007 combines the interests of garden initiatives for the preservation and the care of parks and gardens. To develop the garden culture is the main aim. The future of German gardens and parks should be sustainable secured by professionalization. They should reach in the awarness of a broad public as garden artificial attractive places with a high residence quality. Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. offers an information and communication stage to regional garden initiatives – the market place for an exchange of experiences and a networked acting. In a Germany-European „Schulterschluss“ (demonstration of unity and closing of ranks) should parks and gardens be perserved and developed for the use of the visitors. Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. will sensitise and contibute to the security of the cultural heritage as well as to the sponsorship of contemporary garden art.
History
Foundation of the Federal Association
The foundation act of the Federal Association Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. could took place on the 31st may 2007 within the scope of the international Gardensymposium „Grün vernetzt“ (green connected) in Oldenburg after the first connecting steps in 2003 and a continuous network care in the following years.

Manifold connected, local benefit from knowledge transfer – that is the device of the members in the Gartennetz Deutschland e.V..
Lobbying activities and cooperative acting should set sustainable impulses. The regional garden initiatives pursue the positioning of national and international parks and gardens in the Federal Association.
The Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. engages especially for:
- quality, management and service for the benefit of historical and contemporary parks and gardens,
- the value of parks and gardens as artwork,
- gain of vistors and advancement of garden tourism and
- the anchorage of parks and gardens as a place of life quality.
Achievements
How Gartennetz Deutschland supports his members?
The association affords wide information offers and performances to garden initiatives:
- regular interdisciplinary exchange of experiences
- assembly and development of cooperations and working structures – also with European partners
- sponsorship of measures for the preservation, the reconstruction and development of parks and gardens
- support in the conception of garden tourism offers
- workshop talks and diet
- events with publicity effect
- communication work – press, PR-work, advertisement
- support in fundraising-measures

Become a Member
Who can become a member?
Gartennetz Deutschland e.V. is the Federal Association of regional gardeninitiatives. Members are statutory corporations, foundations, associations, or legal persons, which have already linked to garden initiatives.
Single owners of parks and gardens were ask to coordinate themselves with multivarious initiatives in terms of the networking interest, to become member in the interconnection. Also sponsor members are welcome.
